Wire wool, which can also be referred to as steel wool, is an abrasive material suitable for the cleaning and surface preparation of metal, wood, and glass surfaces both in the workshop and at home. This coarse grade is ideal for removing marks, corrosion and rough edges, together with old paint and varnish when used with a chemical stripper. Scrunched-up wire wool can also be used to block up small holes and cracks in a property to prevent rodents from entering without the use of harmful chemicals, poisons, or traps.
